A promising young motocross rider has lost his life after a fatal crash at the sport's national competition. Twenty-year-old Brayden Erbacher succumbed to his injuries while competing in the Australian ProMX championship at the Moreton Districts Motocross Club (MDMX) track in Queensland.

According to witnesses and race officials, Erbacher went down heavily mid-race and was immediately attended to by medical personnel. Despite their efforts, he sadly passed away at the scene. The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.
